Captain's Log Chapter 1

On 31 July, Laura Hatcher Photography will start an epic road trip from Portland, Oregon to Arlington, Virginia to document Women Motorcycle Riders participating in the 2021 Suffragists Centennial Motorcycle Ride (#SCMR2021).

Check out a quick background video on how I prepared for the trip.

Since I have so much gear we decided driving across country would be the best option, the drive out west was documented on Instagram/Facebook stories daily. Family visits are scheduled in Indio, San Diego, and Irvine CA, before we head up to Portland, OR.

The following are daily highlights from the first four days.

After packing up an entire photography studio and cramming it into a small SUV, the family (3 out of 5 members) started the road trip West.

London Bridge is falling down and so is the I-40 West Bridge causing a major detour to our journey.

Everything is BIG in Texas.

Escaping from Texas took a while but eventually we found the middle of nowhere and some beautiful scenery in New Mexico.
